Hunan Provincial People's Hospital

Hunan Provincial People's Hospital has responded actively to healthcare reform, building an operations management model based on RBRVS and DRGs. Guided by its strategic goals and driven by its performance scheme, it takes the labor value of each post — technical difficulty, risk, quality and labor intensity — as the focus of evaluation.

The performance scheme sets incentive policies separately for the physician, nursing, medical technology and medical support job families. It also strengthens cost control and adds dedicated cost items, so that departments control costs on their own initiative and move toward precision management.

The hospital is the only general Grade III Class A (tertiary) hospital directly under the Hunan provincial government. As one of the medical centers of the Hunan region, its reform has attracted close attention from peers and is increasingly serving as a model.
